Originally from Raleigh, NC, Priscilla moved to Nashville shortly after high school, encouraged by her mother to pick up a guitar found in the attic of their family home (shared with four siblings). She auditioned for every singing competition show before deciding to move to Nashville. Early Nashville years were difficult — her house was broken into more than once, and she wasn't old enough to get into bars to perform or attend songwriting rounds. She worked at a yogurt shop and took evening classes. A chance encounter with Taylor Swift (who pulled over after spotting Priscilla in one of her shirts) inspired Priscilla to fully commit to music — she quit her job and school that night.

She built a close songwriting circle including roommate Sarah Jones, created a fake booking company to secure gigs, played outside Bridgestone Arena on concert nights, and supported herself through nannying, dog walking, and selling goods on Craigslist. During the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown in 2020, she began posting songs on TikTok — including "Thick Thighs" and "PMS" — and soon topped the iTunes Country and All-Genre song charts.
